The Slick Civil Team has been busy

Here is a look at some of the recent projects our team has been involved with.

Ōmaranui Landfill

Our team was subcontracted under Fulton Hogan to assist in the development of stage 3A of the Ōmaranui Landfill, which focused on advancing the development of cell D. Slick Civil’s role in this project was to complete, the initial bulk earthworks, clay liner installation, installation of a leachate collection system, GPS subgrade trimming and perimeter bund construction.

HBRC Walker Road

Slick Civil recently completed a 216,000m³ extraction for the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council on the Tukituki River at Walker Road. This project was completed over 4 working months and saw us moving on average 2,500m³ per day. To complete this extraction Slick Civil used two Cat 336 excavators, and eight 40-ton dump trucks. The extracted metal was carted over 10km before being stockpiled. Thorough planning and strategic use of plant made this project a success.

Puketapu Stop Bank

Slick Civil was contracted to rebuild and restore an 800m section of stop bank along the Tutaekuuri River that was damaged by Cyclone Gabrielle. During this project we unearthed a series of midden pits, which required consultation with local iwi and archaeologists. After extensive investigations were undertaken, we worked alongside the archaeologists to construct the stop bank whilst working to preserve these artifacts as best as possible.

Awesome to be a part of a significant piece of Māori history in Hawke’s Bay.
